ABOUT GOUACHE:

Gouache is an opaque watercolour and an easy-to-use painting medium.

Its opaque and solid matte finish results from its high concentration of large particle pigments.

It is best to use gouache with very little water to maintain its opacity and matte finish, although more water can be added to make it mimic watercolour.

Unlike watercolour, gouache can be layered from light to dark and dark to light.

It is also easier to correct mistake in a painting, but the base layer should dry before reworking or applying a new layer.

To create lighter shades, add white gouache, not water.

Gouache is versatile; it works well with other mediums and adheres to any surface.

Since gouache is a water based medium, reactivating and cleaning up is easy.
